Our Mission

We provide comprehensive services to citizens of Miami-Dade County regardless of race, creed, sex, age, gender orientation, disability or socio-economic status. The Center advocates for and offers services to persons needing mental health and substance abuse care, housing assistance and supportive services, as well as child and family prevention, preservation and support services.

The Center is under the leadership of Dr. Luvernice Croskey.

The agency prides itself in being a compassionate voice for mental health for the needy in the inner city predominantly minority communities in Miami-Dade County and celebrates everyone's right to mental health services.

New Horizons Promotes Effective Ways to Deliver Mental Health Services and substance abuse services for Children Suffering from Urgent Mental Health Disorders

Much like adults, children can suffer from mental health disorders that require urgent care. When untreated, mental health problems children and adolescents can lead to school failure, family conflicts, drug abuse, violence, and even suicide. Yet, in many communities, services for young people with serious emotional disturbances are not offered, are too costly, or are unsuitable.
