Department of Human Services (DHS)

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is Miami-Dade County's largest provider of comprehensive social and human services covering children to elderly, disabled to veterans, welfare clients to farm workers, delinquency prevention to substance abuse and emergency assistance to homeless outreach. Department of Elder Affairs

The Florida Department of Elder Affairs is the agency constitutionally designated by Florida voters to "serve as the primary state agency" responsible for administering human services programs for the elderly. (Section 430.03 Florida Statutes). Its purpose is to serve elders in all aspect possible ways to help them keep their self-sufficiency and self-determination.

The Children's Trust

The Children’s Trust was created by voter referendum in 2002 as a dedicated source of funding to meet those needs. The Trust, the staff and 33-member board are committed to funding programs that offer the highest possible quality services, with the goals of implementing best practices and improving the lives of children and families in our community
